Your privacy is a top priority. The AI Usage Dashboard extension is designed to be a local-first, privacy-focused tool. This policy explains what information is accessed, how it is handled, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Data Collection and Usage

The AI Usage Dashboard does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any third-party servers.

• What we do NOT collect: We do not track your browsing history, keystrokes, mouse clicks, or monitor your web activity outside of the specific usage pages of supported AI providers. We never store or transmit your chat history, prompts, or code.
• What we DO access:
  • Authentication Data: The extension accesses session cookies locally within your browser to identify your active session with supported AI providers (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor). This is strictly to authenticate requests for your usage quotas and is never transmitted to us.
  • Usage Metrics: We fetch usage information (such as remaining quota, balance, and reset times) directly from provider-owned APIs. This information is displayed only to you in your browser and is not uploaded to any remote server.
  • Local Settings: Your preferences (such as enabled providers, theme mode, and refresh intervals) are stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local.

2. Data Storage

All data handled by the extension resides exclusively on your local machine within your browser's storage. We do not maintain any cloud-based database, nor do we have access to your local extension data.

3. Third-Party Services

The extension communicates directly with official AI provider APIs (e.g., api.claude.ai, chatgpt.com/backend-api/wham/usage) to retrieve the data you have requested. We are not affiliated with these providers, and our extension does not modify your data on their platforms.

4. Permissions

The extension requests the minimum permissions necessary to function:

• storage: Used to save your local configuration.
• cookies: Used to authenticate your requests to supported provider APIs.
• tabs & host_permissions: Used to communicate with the specific AI provider websites you have authorized.
• scripting: Used to extract data from authorized usage pages that are not natively exposed via API.

5. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
